Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard within her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get an income or as a pastime, but as an opportunity to improve. In order to do so she wrote her first songs that were her own creations. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love for Bjork's style. Responding to her mother's suggestions that she should not be aiming to be famous through her songwriting, but instead recognize the significance of their lives and their impact on society. Piano was her first instrument at the age of six. She started making music at the age of nine. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never her dream. The only thing she loves is to write music. For her music, it is the most efficient means of communicating anything.
