Anika Noni, an American actress and vocalist. She's best known for portraying Tiana Disney's her first African American character as Tiana Disney's first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog. The year 2011, Rose was honored as a Disney Legend. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robinson on the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls. Anika noni Rose is an American actor, singer and songwriter. The most famous of her roles was her performance as Tiana Ariel, the princess of Disney, who was one of the very first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was named a Disney Legend in the year 2011. Her other starring part, playing Lorrell Robinson, on the show Dreamgirls (2007) which has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she performs the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on Starz's series Power. She is also known for her performances in theatre particularly due to her roles in the lead role of Emmie Thibodeaux, in Caroline or Change, the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Beneatha Younger in The Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
